OK, so maybe you’re still not sure. I mean, there’s a certain amount of comfort in the perceived anonymity of site browsing and blog reading. Registering for an account on a website is almost too much of a commitment for some, I guess, including family and friends alike. “I don’t want them to know where I’ve been and what I’ve read” or “I don’t want them to have my email address, because my inbox is already too full of stuff I don’t want in the first place.” I know all about it — I’m there too, sometimes.
That being said, if you aren’t sure that you want to register on this site, just to be able to read and perhaps comment on the latest musings that are running around my head, or the goings-on in my world, then you probably don’t belong here anyway. Be assured, no member will at any time receive any unsolicited email from this site; members who post or comment can choose how their names are displayed, but will never have their name or email address shared outside of this site with anyone, anywhere, anytime. Sure, I do sometimes review the site traffic, to determine which content is most popular, and which areas ar not, but it is for my own edification only, and is never shared or sold to any sites, ever.
I’d always tried to be careful with what information I post to my blog. Nothing too personal, nothing too revealing, nothing that would put my required level of privacy in jeopardy. Nothing that could come back to harm me, my wife, our kids, or our collective families and friends at-large. However, in an effort to be even more careful about who reads what, and to ensure that only trusted members will have access to my site content, I am making a decision: casual visitors will effectively now be restricted from viewing any of my blog content. Retroactive to the beginning of this site, everything from now on is members-only.
Members, those visitors who have registered on this site, will of course have full visibility to the posts and comments, as well as the ability to post and/or comment themselves.
So, if you’re a registered member, then go ahead and login over there to read the latest and greatest news. If you’re not a member, then what are you waiting for? Click on the Register link to select your username — your password will be emailed to you, and then you too can enjoy all the benefits of the rest of the site members! Of course, if you have no interest in registering, that’s OK too — you just won’t be able to read any content.
Ever.
